Campus Development Plan

The Campus Development Plan sets out our roadmap for growth from a single-campus early years and primary school to a dual-campus institution offering a full through-train education from age 2 to A-Levels.

Each phase of development is designed to strengthen the everyday experience of school life — supporting exceptional teaching, broad opportunities, and a warm, well-structured environment for every pupil.

Phase 1: Multi-Purpose Gym (2025/26)

The first project is the construction of a new multi-purpose gym, located at the far end of the football pitch.

This new space will support:

  • Physical Education lessons and sport
  • School assemblies and performances
  • Events and community gatherings

Once complete, the existing second-floor gym will be repurposed as a dedicated area for our growing Year 7 and 8 cohorts — unlocking additional space across the school for other pupils.

Phase 2: Year 7–8 Academic Hub

With the relocation of our gym facilities, we will redevelop the current second-floor space into a tailored academic hub for upper primary and early secondary pupils.

This will provide:

  • Modern, age-appropriate classrooms
  • A library and flexible study spaces
  • Dedicated areas for technology, collaboration, and quiet focus

Phase 3: Music Hub

To support our growing music programme, this phase will see the creation of a purpose-built Music Hub on campus.

Key features will include:

  • Instrumental practice rooms
  • Ensemble rehearsal spaces
  • Facilities for peripatetic teaching and recording

The Music Hub is designed to enhance both individual learning and group performance — including our growing choral programme, which is gaining recognition across Jakarta and the wider international school community.

Phase 4: Outdoor & Early Years Enhancements

This phase focuses on upgrades to our younger pupils’ environments and campus flow, including:

  • Improved outdoor play and learning spaces
  • A reorganisation of the ground floor to support Early Years and Administration
  • Better circulation and access across the campus

Phase 5: Second Campus

Our long-term vision includes the opening of a second ISJ campus to support continued academic growth through to A-Levels and beyond.

While this development will depend on sustained and modest growth, planning is already underway. The second campus will allow us to:

  • Maintain our small, personal environment while growing capacity
  • Introduce specialist facilities for senior learning
  • Provide continuity for families seeking a complete educational journey with ISJ
